Makeup Products I’m Using Right Now

Happy Sunday, y’all! Today I’ll be talking about the current makeup products I’m using right now! If you’ve been reading my blog posts from before, you might have seen this before because I’m a bit of a creature of habit and like to stick with what works for me and not try as many new products because 1. Finding my shade in foundation is so frustrating and 2. Saving money is key for me right now and I want to use up my makeup before I purchase any more makeup. #TryingToSaveMoney2019 💰

Now from what you can see in the picture above is mostly higher priced makeup brands, but I also have some more affordable items, too.  I like to have a balance and honestly some drug-store products have worked out in my favor than some of my higher-priced products. Now I don’t know if it’s because of my skin – I have dry skin but oily areas like my nose and forehead – or if the product is just not good, but it has been a struggle to get to this point and get to have some products that have truly worked for me and my skin.

For my face, I do like to use the MAC Prep + Prime Fix+ to get a bit of hydration on my skin before I put on my primer and foundation. The primer I’m using (and almost running out of, actually) is the NYX Angel Veil Primer and this is a more higher priced item from NYX that I’ve ever purchased from them, but it has worked for me and I like the end result it gives me. The foundation that I’ve gotten back to using is the Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation in Shade 8.0 and this certain foundation has a golden undertone and it has blended pretty well with my skin and I use a beauty blender to blend it and I only use one layer to keep it more natural. (If you know of any good foundations with golden undertones please let me know in the comments below!)

Now once I’ve done all that, I like to use the NYX Mineral “Set It & Don’t Fret It” Matte Finishing Powder and I don’t use a lot I just do a light dust of it and it doesn’t settle into my smile lines or creases and the flashback (for me) hasn’t been as bad as other powders I’ve tried. Then I like to do my brows and I really love the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade in Medium Brown and I don’t use a lot because my brows are naturally dark, but they do have some sparse areas that need fixing and a little goes a long way with this product. Now for my cheek area, I use a little bit of blush and the blush I am using right now and is an all time favorite is MAC Pro Longwear Blush in Stubborn then I use a little bit of highlighter on the cheek bone area and a little bit on my nose and I’ve been loving this cream highlight from ColourPop and it’s called Wisp .

The products I use for my eyes are simple and to the point, it’s just liner, liquid liner and mascara. I’m a pretty simple girl and I usually – usually – go for simple makeup looks. The liner I use for my waterline and as a base for my liquid liner is the CoverGirl Perfect Point Plus Liner in Black Onyx and then I go over the liner with the Absolute New York Nano Liquid Liner and lastly I use the Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara .

Sometimes I like to wear eyeshadow and other days I don’t, but when I do I like to use the Tarte Tartelette Tease Clay Eyeshadow Palette and I love the colors and I can use them all to create a simple look or a bold look and I also like that it’s travel-sized and doesn’t take much, if any, room in my makeup bag and to me that’s a huge plus!

So those are all the products I’m currently using and loving. As you can see it is pretty simple and when it relates to makeup I’m fairly simple with my makeup looks, but every now and then I do like to go more bold, but I do want to jump out of my comfort zone and try bolder looks, but first I need to brush up on my makeup skills for that, haha.

I hope y’all enjoyed this post and I would love to know what products your using and if you have any recommendations, please let me know in the comments below, I’d love to see what y’all recommend! 🙂 Happy Sunday, y’all! 💖
